MEET STEVE
Proven Leadership for the Citizens of Senate District 13
Steve Jarman is a life long resident of Pauls Valley. He graduated from Pauls Valley High School in 1972. He then attended East Central University at Ada where he graduated with honors in 1976 receiving a Bachelor of Science in Education degree.
A math major and an English minor, Steve was employed to teach math and English at Pauls Valley Public Schools where he dedicated thirty-one years of award-winning service to the students of Pauls Valley and the education profession.
Steve's dedication to the education profession included serving on committees ranging from local to international levels. This included contract negotiations since 1980.
Steve has received awards for outstanding service in the education profession at local, state, national and international levels. (See Sections 5 and 7 of the attached Resume.)
In addition to Steve's years of service to the education profession he has owned and operated a pest control business since 1981. He has offered knowledge and service of pest problems ranging from tree spraying to structural pests, termites, for over thirty years.
As if this wasn't enough, Steve took up scuba diving in the late 1980's and in 1992 turned his hobby into a third profession by becoming a scuba instructor. In 2007 he achieved the title of Master Scuba Diver Trainer. He is certified to teach seven underwater specialty courses ranging from Deep Diver to Underwater Videography.
During his years as a classroom teacher he taught select groups of high school students to dive and took them with him on expeditions to locations in the Caribbean such as Cozumel, Mexico and Grand Cayman where they learned first hand about reef systems. It was because of this that Diver Alert Network recognized him as a runner-up for the D.A.N.-Rolex Diver of the Year Award in 2008.
